Our most popular generator. Many of our customers find this permanent magnet alternator to be just what they have been looking for. A quality alternator made in the USA that will generator power on the lower end. This PMA will reach 12 volt charging in series and a mere 50 RPM in our dual PMA or 100 in the single. While utilizing the PMA in this manner will tend to limit the amp output in is ideal in conditions where wind speed is limited or height restrictions keep your project in the trees out of the good wind. For the back yard wind power enthusiast many have found that generating some power over a period of time beat not getting anything for long periods of time because the wind generator does not reach it's cut in speed. This is the speed in which the open voltage in the stator is higher than the source you intent to feed. This is true whether it be a battery bank or the set point of a grid tie inverter. These generators are great for 48 volt set ups with a cut in speed of around 200 RPM. If you have more wind check out our 12 volt winding that will produce more amperage if you have decent wind. Our 24 volt set up has winding that are somewhat of a middle ground between the two.
