Many of you are experimenting with do it yourself wind turbine and solar projects. I get a lot of questions about blocking diodes and chargers.I set out to design and build a charge control to this end, but after hours of research I concluded for the money I couldn't build a better controller than this one. A charge controller is an important system component that regulates the voltage generated from your renewable energy system and properly maintains your batteries. It protects your batteries from being over and under charged, and ensures maximum battery life. It is vital to a system as otherwise the battery bank must be manually monitored and connected disconnected to prevent overcharging. It is my concern that many of you purchasing these generator are overcharging batteries that are stored in plastic containers unventilated. This is not only good way to destroy expensive batteries but to cause an explosion and serious injury. This unit is good for use as a hybrid system meaning it works with solar or wind. Many of the units out there are not suitable for use with wind systems. This controller has a "dump load" outlet to which power can be diverted to another source, water heater, another battery bank ect.
