The MidNite Solar Whiz Bang Jr is a precision current sense module designed to work with MidNite’s battery monitoring ecosystem. When used with the proper 500A/50mV shunt, it allows your MidNite equipment to accurately measure battery current for advanced state-of-charge (SOC) calculations and system control.
- Compatible with: MidNite Classic charge controllers (150/200/250), Classic Lite, KID MPPT controller, and MidNite Rosie 7048RE inverter systems
- Function: Measures battery current via shunt and feeds data to MidNite devices for SOC, net battery amps, and enhanced charging logic
- Shunt: Designed to be used with a 500A/50mV shunt (required for proper operation)
- Installation: Mounts directly on the shunt and connects to the compatible MidNite controller or inverter
- Application: Ideal for off‑grid, backup power, and renewable energy systems needing accurate battery monitoring
Note on Rosie compatibility:
The Whiz Bang Jr works fully with the MidNite Rosie 7048RE inverter line. Rosie was released after the original Whiz Bang Jr documentation, which is why some older descriptions only list the Classic and KID. You can use this module with Rosie without any issues.
